Conversations around the metaverse have become more prominent since Meta (formerly Facebook) CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the company’s investment in the virtual world. Adidas is the latest big corporation to buy into this idea of the metaverse.
Adidas has entered the metaverse through a partnership with Bored Ape Yacht Club, one of the most successful digital art nonfungible tokens (NFT), and crypto influencer gmoney. They’re also working with PUNKS Comic, a comic books creator that combines NFTs and physical comic books to create crypto comics.
While Adidas covers style, others are cashing in on real estate. Sandbox, a decentralized metaverse game, sold a lot of virtual land to Snoop Dogg. Snoop is currently recreating his California home on his land.
Before you can style yourself in the metaverse, you’ll need to know what it is 😛. We can help with that. Watch out for a metaverse explainer in one of our upcoming Breach Basics series.
